Unfortunately,:( I am unable to attend any of the workshops on the Travel Logic's new web-site marketing system, which I believe is commission free opportunity for me to promote and sell my B&B accommodation over the internet.
I am a small B&B provider in Cavan, without a web-site and would like to know what those that attended the workshop thought about the services that are available and would it be cost effective for me?

Conor,
On you presentaton earllier you quoted the 3 options/montly payments.
You also quoted 3 customer paying systems and prices for thoes.
Are these payments in addition to the monthly charge for site hosting and are they a monthly or yearly charge.

Travellogic sounds like a logical site on which to sell our tourism business. As people are booking direct on line and also want to pay on line. We are a small business and it does not justify to have a credit card facility for possibly 30 transactions in a year

Can you put together a pckage to suit the needs of our Show which we hold once a year. Our site would be active most from mid-June to the end of August, after that time the site would be mostly dormant.

I don't think this package would be of any interest to the show. I am a bit dissappointed with the afternoon as I taught I was going to learn how to put together a web site, not to buy one.

Hi Derek,
Thank you for your posting. The different pricing options starting from €39.00 per month is for the website design, hosting and commission free booking engine.
Because the Travel Logic booking engine is commission free, your customer payments are made directly to your bank a/c. There is a once off fee at set-up stage to integrate your website with the preferred payment option you choose.
To get yor website up and running we essenially need the following:
Select the wesite design and service option which best suits your business
Email the "Text and Images" which you want displayed on your website.
Decision on how you want your customer to confirm their booking with you via your new website.
We can then design your website for you and once you are happy with everything and sign-off, we will put you website live on the internet.
Best regards,
conor.daly@travellogic.ie

Hi Tom,
Thank you for attending today. For 30 transactions per year it would make more sense to use alternative booking options highlighted today such as (1) automated invoiving where the customer send a cheque to secure booking or (2) PayPal which has the facility to take credit card bookings and is less expensive.
Which ever option you decide to choose, Travel Logic can easily integrate your preferred option into you website.
Best regards,

A very interesting talk- as I already have a website I am not sure if I could obtain more business via Travel Logic - I get very few inquiries which leads me to believe that the "right" key words are not in the text - any suggestions welcome! Thank you Josephine Patton

Many thanks for your feedback and for attending today. I accept your point which is well made. The Travel Logic system is primarily designed for tourism accommodation providers (hotels, B&B, Self Catering etc.) but some of the database marketing functionality may be of interest in managing cost effective online marketing communications to your customers.

A very interesting talk by Connor and I can see how this service would be invaluable to a busy B&B but because my accommodation is dormitory style and I cater for large groups it would not suit me. I have to tailor my product to suit the needs of each group, some want water based activities, some hill walking etc etc.

Hi virginiashow,
My apologies for the late replies to threads on the new talktourism.ie site, however, my 'long finger' got even longer recently!
As we are all aware, the Virginia Agricultural Show is probably (after the ploughing c'ship) one of the biggest agricultural shows in Ireland. The organising committee and administrative workers would benefit greatly from having a website for the show. It would be so convenient for exhibitors to download forms from the site, not to mention saving time and cutting costs for the committee on postage etc. Entries for various show categories and exhibitors could be received through it also. Tickets could be sold for the 'show night' at the Riverfront Hotel in advance. All these things would free up so much time and paperwork for the committee. There would also, of course, be huge advertising potential having the site on the World Wide Web.
Anyway, building a website isn't 'rocket science' any more. There are several editors available to buy off the shelf (Macromedia Dreamweaver being the best although probably most expensive). The committee should assign this project to one / some of the students they take on via the student summer job scheme this year!!
OR (sorry Maggie) have a chat with the experienced www.sitestogo.biz who offer a CMS (Content Management System) which means it's easy peasy to update!!:D

Hey Donal, word of advice: let Gail do the talking, as they wouldn't be able to understand your 'Blayney accent! :p

Perhaps it would be a better idea if Virginia Show Society helped build/host a website which would serve all of the Virginia web community. I am sure that there are other commercial interests which would welcome being part of the bigger picture.

Hi Emmett and all,
Just to let ye know that Virginia Show DO have a website at www.virginiashow.com which was launched in 2006.
2007 prizelists and entry forms will be updated as soon as they are finalised by the committee. People are able to download the forms straight from the site and send them in to Virginia Show Office, Showgrounds, Virginia, Co Cavan.
Many thanks for your interest
