I need advice on an alternative method of processing credit cards. The rental on the current terminal I have is increasing and due to the small amount of transactions, it really is not paying .I checked out Pay Pal and it cant process credit card details given to me by a customer .
So when I take a booking over the phone or by email and I need to take a deposit or full amount from a credit card / Debit card ,how can i do it ??

Suggest that you shop around the various banks to see who is offering the best deal. Just to give you an Ulster Bank comparrison:
Terminal rental ----17.70 Euro per month plus Vat@21%
Transaction charges - Cards acquired by Ulster Bank 0.16 Euro plus Vat

If you are paying more than this then perhaps you can negotiate with your present bank using the above figures for bargaining. They are all looking for business so don't be afraid to haggle for the best deal.

I gave back my terminal about 6 months ago as rental had gone up, I am now using B&B Ireland's credit card system which is provided by a company called Realex. Why I am mentioning this is because last week I had to pay online for something and Realex was the credit card provider on that site as well. All is done using a computer so there is no terminal, it might be of benefit to have a look at their site. http://www.realexpayments.com/ie-2 .

Hi Catherine I checked with Realex and while they are an online method of taking Credit/Debit card payments you still pay €30 +vat per month rental / subscription .Is there a FREE process out there where you just pay a % on each transaction.?
