Hi everyone,
I see Eyefortravel have finally come to Ireland with an interesting conference in Clontarf Castle in Feb. But although they have an impressive collection of speakers, it seems very pricey at €995!!
What do you think?

Is EyeforTravel worth it ..............would probably help if the above gave some more information so that we can judge for ourselves, a proper website address would help: ~ http://www.eyefortravel.com/arev/
After doing a little more investigation about EyeforTravel it appears that they are a global online publisher company focussing on distribution, marketing and technology developments in the travel and tourism industies. Bottom line they are in the business of selling travel online and are in the process of organising a travel seminar in Dublin as part of a worldwide seminar campaign. Most of the speakers are representatives from airlines who obviously see the potential for travel to Ireland and major hotel chains like Marriot who have entered the Irish marketplace in recent years.
Personally I do not see myself attending the seminar, but obviously the organisers do see potential otherwise they wouldn't be here.

I see you found the website on google, those search engines do come in handy. I take your point though a URL would have saved you some time.
I think although a lot of speakers are not accommodation providers there would be a lot to learn at this event. However I think the cost is far too high and I would suspect the take up from the Irish Tourism Industry would be quiet low.
But I do feel we need more industry focused E-Marketing seminars and events. Another poster mentioned the Tourism Ireland E-Symposium (www.esymposium.ie) but although I spent 7 years employed by TI I thought the speakers were not very suitable to grass roots and covered larger strategic issues which would be more suitable to multi-national organisations.
Anyway... Im new to Talktourism... I must say its a great initiative

Welcome Ciaran, it is indeed encouraging that you found us too and just goes to show that Talk Tourism does have a global audience. Perhaps the underlying question is your own interest for the EyeforTravel event, do you see a place for our own regional tourism to be highlighting it's own atributes in the presence of the global travel assembly.

Hi Ciaran
I was the "other poster" and I attended the TI event again this year which was a significant improvement on last year's event and very suitable for small tourism businesses and good value at that!
The EyeforTravel event may be more applicable to the medium sized or larger operator. They've been around for five years or so and provide an excellent travel/tourism news service with a weekly news summary (www.eyefortravel.com). The event could provide a good networking opportunity for anyone seeking to forge new partnership links but I agree with you that the cost will prohibit many SMEs from attending.
